CV Spreker

Cécile Clercx graduated from the University of Liège, Belgium in 1983 and joined the department of Clinical Science of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, section Companion Animal Internal Medicine where she is now Professor. She defended her PhD thesis at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands in 1983. Since 1995, she is diplomate of the European college of Veterinary Internal Medicine, for which she has been a Board member (executive secretary) from 1998 to 2002 and is a member of the education committee friom 2007 to 2018. She has been head of the Small Animal Clinic from 2006 to 2016.
Her main interests include upper and lower respiratory tract diseases in dogs and cats, with special emphasis on aspergillosis, eosinophilic bronchopneumopathy and interstitial diseases (such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in terrier dogs), lung function testing, and bronchial diseases in cats. She is the author of numerous presentations and communications in international congresses, as well as scientific publications in journals and in books on this topic.
